Full Coverage Auto Insurance

I was challenged recently to check and see how quickly I could get a quote for full coverage auto insurance using the Cheap-Autoinsurance.com site.

So I took the challenge -- because I cannot ignore a gauntlet once thrown. (It's a character flaw of mine.) I went to the site and typed in my zip code, and instantly got five possible insurance companies to choose from. I went with "esurance" and clicked on that link to "get quote," and was jumped right away to the esurance site, which asked me a few simple questions about me and about my car and needs. I entered my email and I had a quote -- all in the time it takes me to get up and get a cup of coffee.

Up until now, we've gotten our insurance through our loyal insurance agent. When we got a rate hike last year (the regrettable result of two speeding tickets I got... which I was FRAMED for)(by "framed" I mean "rightly accused of speeding but I'd rather not have gotten the tickets."), I called our insurance agent to find out if we could get cheaper car insurance. He said he'd get back to me and about two days later called back with one option, which we took.

In the time that ONE phone call took I could have used this website to get five different quotes -- and I wouldn't have had to wait a couple of days. Five quotes, right away, all while I sit at my desk and appear to be working. (Well, okay, I never actually "appear" to be working. Usually people assume I'm "sleeping," or "trying to see how many Cheetos I can fit into my mouth." But you get the point.
