The football season will begin in less than 2 weeks, but I'm ready, for a change, with help from WaiverWire. Not only have I already drafted a phenomenal team, but I've completed my first blockbuster trade, sending Donald Driver and a running back to my opponent to nab T.O. from the Bills.
I can do these kinds of things with confidence because I'm a member of Waiverwire.com, the fantasy football site that provides expert information analyzed using methods that were honed on Wall Street -- the guys who set up the site are financial guys who put their expertise to an area where's actually helpful, fantasy football.
So I get, with my free membership, expert rankings and analysis, like the strength of schedule reports. This is something I've only seen on WaiverWire, and it's a doozy of a help. It tells me that the Bills have 7 easy games, compared with only 5 for the Packers. Everyone knows that fantasy depends heavily on who's playing who -- you could score more points with the Texans playing a bad team than with the Colts playing a good team. So strength of schedule counts for a lot in fantasy football. I've been checking over there to figure out which players promise to face a lot of weak opponents and therefore may have big stat years.
Because I'm gonna win my league. For a change.
